Sporting Equipment

Ski gear, golf bags, and small surfboards up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and 118 in (300 cm) count as your standard checked bag. Large surfboards (over 42 inches / 107 cm) and bicycles are excluded from standard allowances and cost €65 to €125 ($75 to $150 USD) per direction depending on the route.

Musical Instruments

Instruments under 45 in (115 cm) travel free in the cabin as carry-on. Larger instruments up to 50 lbs (23 kg) count as a standard checked bag if packed in a rigid, hard-shell case. Bulky instruments up to 99 lbs (45 kg) require purchasing an extra passenger seat with prior airline approval.

Valuable & Fragile Electronics

Laptops, cameras, and drones must travel in cabin baggage allocations. Smart luggage with non-removable lithium batteries and loose power banks are prohibited in the checked cargo hold. Checked fragile items carry no airline transit liability.

Carrier Liability & Seasonal Limits

Subject to international Montreal Convention limits (~$1,700 USD). Standard checked bags cannot exceed 62 linear inches and a hard ceiling of 70 lbs (32 kg); items over 118 inches (300 cm) must route through AFKL Cargo. Seasonal embargoes limit customers to 2 checked bags on select Caribbean and African routes from Nov to Jan.
